Using the Keyword Analysis Tool

The keyword analysis tool compares the keyword phrases in your META tags to their occurrence in the content and description of your page. It shows you how often the keyword phrases you used appear in your page's content. Although the keyword analysis tool recommends that any keyword phrases you use show up at least 4 times somewhere on your page, you also need to consider the density of your keyword phrases. Stephen Harris, SEO expert and owner of SPH Associates, says "For optimal results, the density should be around 15-18%, BUT there has to be decent separation as well - so you can't say real estate estate real estate real estate".

Having various keywords that seem to have no relevance with your site's content can actually hurt your ranking on search engines. Anywhere your analysis report gives you a green check mark is good, and a red "X" means you need to add more of this keyword to the web page (URL) you are submitting.

Most website owners spend hours researching META tag information and Search Engine submission techniques, but fail to tackle the one thing that can give them multiple benefits. How your site is presented and the text you use can have a dramatic impact on your search engine positioning.

Most search engine spiders read the text that is contained on your web page and use this information when deciding if your site is relevant enough to be displayed in its results. If a search engine scans your web page and finds no mention of the keyword being searched it doesn't matter how great your META tags are, your site will not be displayed at the top of the results. The reason being is Search Engines like to display websites that are as relevant as possible and it has been shown that if a particular keyword is mentioned on the web page, then the website will likely be just what the searcher is looking for.
